Jane Burrow, Playleader Manager

I'm Jane and I am the Playleader Manager at Rodborough Playgroup. I started at Rodborough Playgroup 9 years ago and absolutely love it here. We are so lucky to have our lovely big playroom and Rodborough common on our doorstep. I have a special interest in Forest School and look forward to bringing forest school activities into the playgroup week. I am also the  settings SENCo and Designated Safeguarding Lead.

I have been a local childminder for the last 10 years which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I’ve looked after approximately 20 children a week and worked for over 20 families. The children ranged from 9 months old to 11. I decided I would like a new challenge and look forward to meeting everybody at Rodborough Playgroup. I have a level 3 qualification in childcare from Cache and have undertaken training in S.E.N., Letters and Sounds and Inclusion. I have 3 grown up children who are 19, 21 and 23 and my favourite free-time activity is going camping!

I have experience in both mainstream and special educational needs schools and have gained my NVQ levels 2 and 3 in child care and education as well as hairdressing. My son who is now at primary school used to attend Rodborough Playgroup and loved it!

Since joining Rodborough Playgroup in 2012 I have attended SENCO training as well as many additional courses.

In my spare time I help out at NCT sales and enjoy socialising with friends.

We moved to Stroud 3 years ago and my daughter, who is now at Gastrells school, loved coming to Rodborough Playgroup.  Last year I started working as bank staff.  I love seeing the children develop and make relationships.  Previously I have worked as a childminder and taught as a CELTA teacher, to children aged 7 – 18, in Germany and Poland.  I am currently completing my level 3 diploma in Children’s learning and development.
